WEMBLEY, LONDON, England. A limited amount of public was allowed to return to a football game in England for the first time since the last match played with open doors in March 2020, before the stop due to the spreading pandemic, at the Wembley Stadium, the Temple of Football hosting this historic FA Cup final of the best and most competitive football tournament in the world.
It was also the final consecration of the Video Assistant Referee over the constant criticism for killing the enthusiasm and magic of the match that the VAR and its operators have been subject to by media, fans, players, and clubs after its gradual introduction three years ago.
When in fact, after Ben Chilwell's equalizer in the dying minutes of the game sent Wembley erupting by Chelsea fans, crazy of joy for the returning hopes of a lost game, another unexpected crowd eruption followed less than a minute later when the VAR check sent this time the opposition's Leicester fans ballistic for the disallowed goal that meant them the completition of a region's dream, 137 years old.
