Big Brother's Jack Matthews is confronted by Julie Chen to explain his derogatory comments about Kemi Fakunle: 'I do apologize for what I said'
Jack Matthews made some harsh and derogatory comments about fellow house guest Kemi Fakunle during his time on season 21 of Big Brother.
Now he has been put to the task to explain himself by Julie Chen during his exit interview following his recent elimination from the show.
During Thursday's episode, Chen played clips of him referring to Fakunle, who is African-American, as a 'bitch' and 'dogs***', and at one point he said he wanted to 'stomp a mudhole' into her chest.
Confronted: Jack Matthews was grilled about some of the derogatory comments he made about two of his fellow house guests on season 21 of Big Brother
'I don't think there was any personal vendetta behind saying that. My statements were playful in a group of people,' the reality star responded before making an effort to rectify any hurt he may have caused.
'I do apologize for what I said, and that's very sincere. I think Kemi was, and is, a great person.'
He added, 'This game, being in a 24-hour view of people, you say things. I wouldn't say that I fully support the things that I said in the way that I said them. If I could take them back, I would.'

Denial! Matthews also denied his 'rice pudding' comment in reference to Isabella Wang 'had had nothing to do with her ethnicity whatsoever'
Another instance of what could be construed as crossing a line involved Asian-American contestant Isabella Wang.
When fellow contestant Tommy Bracco talked about Wang's game-play and said, 'the proof is in the pudding,' Matthews responded by saying, 'rice pudding.'
He maintained he only said 'rice pudding' because they were talking about rice pudding in the house before this conversation happened.
'It had nothing to do with her ethnicity whatsoever,' he said. 'I appreciate that I get to voice me saying that.'
